CHANGING SEXUAL TRENDS
CUT OUT THE GORY DETAILS, PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its good to see that over the last decade or so,the media has taken the lead not only to utter the forbidden three letter word -SEX,but that too at length,but most of the gory details in the Cover story-Sex on the Run(OUTLOOK-Jan 26,2009) could definitely be dropped!
OUTLOOK is a family magazine,and if a person like me,who is quite uninhibited,can feel a little uncomfortable going through the article,I can very much understand the reaction of the other readers.And besides this,those details are actually not required to put the message across.If we are discussing the changing sexual trends in the country,then the issue can be well addressed without the much unwanted data,on who does what,when and how ! The inclusion of data on oral sex,woman -on -top,arousal points ,multiple partners and other such rif-raff,not only fail to add to the message,but actually make a story,on such an important issue,sound cheap and vulgar and even pornographic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think it doesn't suit OUTLOOK and should be left to the Feminas,Savvys and Cosmopolitans!
Not much has changed in sex,sexuality and sexual indulgence since time immoriable,and I doubt if anyone can add even a page to the gold standard Kamasutra,leave alone add a chapter on Recent Advances in Sexology! The significant impact that has affected the society over the last decade,however has been one-that sex,per se ,has attained casualness that it lacked earlier,be it in discussion,indulgence or acceptance! Fall in the frequency of couples having sex from 14 to 12 ,over a period of over a decade can hardly be a social change of significance. This may simply reflect change of life styles,being busier and having more modes of entertainment and above all the realization that quality is more important than quantity(frequency)!
Two changes in the sexual trends that have become evident are,extramarital sex including casual one night stands and teenage sex , though the visible increase in these is not the actual increase,since they existed ,though less,always,but have come in open ,now.The first is again attributable to changing lifestyles,with long separations,frequent visits away from home,late working hours and long and intimate exposure to peers of opposite gender,and I do not plan to play the moral guardian to comment on it,since most indulging in it are mature adults,well aware to its impact.But I am sincerely concerned about the latter,and would re-stress the need of timely sex-education!
I would lastly like to suggest,that such studies may also be carried out,amongst the rural population,where I am sure,that the findings would give any of the so called sexually liberated urban dwellers, a run for their money!

SOUL FRACTURES
Soul fractures are more common than the routine injuries and almost all of us must have experienced them at various stages of life,in varying intensities.To traet them too,is a more dfficult task than to tackle the routine bony injuries.Though the common notion is to relate to a soul fracture being caused by a lover, it may be from any soul mate. Such a breach in relationships may be from spouses,siblings,parents,children,friends,teachers, students or anyone for that matter.This is one ailment where the good old proverb of - prevention better than cure,is most aptly suited.I suggest the following to prevent heartbreaks or soul fractures in any relationship .
Add meaning to everyrelationship--dont have a relationship for the sake of social commitment.Make friends in relatives and make relatives in friends
Give time - let the relationship grow,love at first sight usually happens only in movies and novels
Never take someone for granted
Breathing space - give the other person adequate privacy and time for personal life
Be a friend - dont go looking for a friend ,be one and the world will be full of friends
Shed off load - dont carry the burden of dying relationships End them if they are not viable
Work on them - one has to keep working on every relationship to keep it alive,or it will not last for long
Be expressive - communication and expression of love and emotions is mandatory for the sustainance of any relationship
Be prepared - no relationship is beyond the danger of souring so go all out to nurture it
Acceptance - accept your friend as it is with minimal changes,if you want to be accepted,Basic temperament of a person cannot changed
Give all your love to all your relatinships to prevent your soul from being fractured

SATYAM FRAUD
FINANCIAL BLAST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 7000 Crore Satyam Fraud has not only tarnished the very meaning of Satyam,the first of the three words describing GOD,himself(Satyam,Shivam ,Sundram) but has crashed and blasted all that stood in the name of truth,atleast in the eyes of the common man
It may have not killed any,but its impact is akin to the aftermath of the Mumbai blasts,or even worst!The Mumbai Blasts left behind a perpetual scare in every mans mind,and this astonishing scandal besides leaving thousands jobless,and millions paupers,has created a great financial insecurity amongst the masses.
One has become accustomed over the last decade to scams running into hundreds and thousands of crores,but this is the Father of all Frauds,which has left the world numb,dumb and scaringly shocked!!!!!!! If the fraudulent accounts of such mega organizations can skip the vigilant hawky eyes of the financial auditing wizards,then no accounting or auditing system of the country of the world is above suspicion!
Its not only the investors or the employees and others related to Satyam,who have been affected,but this financial blast has created an undesirable state of disbelief in the complete corporate world,and a distrust in the investment system and stock market,that will prove to be highly detrimental for the economical growth of the country.
Besides taking all possible steps to revive the firm,and to gain back the trust of all concerned,the culprits should be given exemplary punishments which may prove to be great deterrents for all in future,to even dare to convert the Satyas of the financial and corporate world to Mithias!!!!
